ROTARY CLUB OF THREE CREEKS

Rotary Club of Three Creeks revives Dancing With the Local Stars

1/11/2018

Six Local Stars to compete at Windy Hills Winery in Ridgefield, March 24
RIDGEFIELD - A valued community event is coming back, as the Rotary Club of Three Creeks presents Dancing With the Local Stars 2.0, 6-9 p.m., Saturday, March 24 at Windy Hills Winery in Ridgefield.

Six local stars - Mike Bomar (CREDC), Scot Brantley (Clark County Public Works), Dr. Dene Grigar (Washington State University Vancouver), Kelly Love (Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center), Julie Olson (Clark County Council), and Jeff Swanson (Battle Ground City Manager) - will square off on the dance floor for best dance honors, and compete in fundraising for the grand championship.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring back this community favorite, and to have such a well-known group of local stars in our first fundraiser," said Rotary Club of Three Creeks President Susanne Holmberg. "This is going to be such a fun event."

The events aim is to benefit Rotary Youth Exchange, scholarships, and club hands-on service projects in the community. The event will be produced and emceed by local ballroom dance aficionado Ralph Stevens, who has coordinated professional dance instructors/choreographers to partner with the local stars.

The six dancers will compete for best dance, voted by attendees and guest judges. The grand champion will be the local star who raises the most funds.

"There will be three categories of dance: International, Latin, and American," said Shirley Gross, chair of the event planning committee. "We also will serve a three-course meal that will correspond to the regional dances."

Ticket sales and sponsorship information will be made available online soon.

The Rotary Club of Three Creeks, chartered in October 2016, serves the Hazel Dell, Felida, Salmon Creek and Ridgefield area of North Clark County. It was named for Salmon Creek, Cougar Creek and Whipple Creek, each of which are geographic mainstays in the "Three Creeks" area. Since chartering, the club of 26 members has completed a dozen service projects, with at least one hands-on outing per month scheduled for the coming year. More information about the club can be found on its website (www.rotaryofthreecreeks.com), or Facebook (www.facebook.com/rotaryofthreecreeks).
