Jacki is the Mental Health Specialist and Department Chair/Site Lead of the Gales Creek campus of Oak Grove Academy, a therapeutic day treatment program with the Forest Grove School District. In her capacity as Mental Health Specialist, Jacki is responsible for ensuring that every aspect of the program aligns with the therapeutic model, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for each student, consultation for all program staff, leading professional development district-wide, care coordination with outside teams (including guardians, group homes, probation officers, outside providers, etc), and managing any therapeutic crisis that occurs.
Prior to her work at Oak Grove, Jacki was a residential therapist for Youth Villages, pulling double duty as a therapist for the Cedar Bough program (for Native Youth needing intensive behavioral and psychiatric care) and for the Mosaic transition group home (for young adults aged 18-21 preparing for independent living).
Jacki obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington (double majoring in Psychology and Sociology with a history minor) and her Master’s degree (in Counseling Psychology) from Pacific University. She is a narrative therapist with an emphasis on using popular culture and humor to make treatment more accessible, particularly with adolescents who have been resistant to therapy in the past.
Three Creeker - and Jacki's grandmother - Louise Hoover will introduce Jackie at our meeting.
