Up next for the Rotary Club of Three Creeks is our fifth Thursday social opportunity. This time, the meeting is a Rotary Fireside at the home of Chuck & Linda Green.

Beverages and light snacks will be served.

We will start the evening with roughly a half hour of social time/fellowship, and finish the meeting with a brief program about Rotary.

Ever since the Rotary Club of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada held its first Fireside Meeting in the late 1920's, to promote fellowship and provide opportunity for discussion of Rotary matters in a relaxing atmosphere, this type of informal Rotary discussion group has become more and more popular among Rotary Clubs around the world.

With many new members to our club, our Fireside meeting will aim to increase members' knowledge of Rotary. President Susanne and PE Nelson would like to see all members attend this Fireside.

The Fireside meeting is a tradition that has endured as a fun, welcoming social activity that provides new members with a history of Rotary and an explanation of the various opportunities for involvement. This is an informal way to learn about community and international projects and find common interests.

Deep thanks were presented to Tina Vlachos at our November 16 meeting when President Susanne presented Tina with the Rotarian of the Month award for October.

Tina's work on our Hands On Committee has been inspirational. She not only works hard with fellow committee members Jolene Nelson, Jessie Harris and Service Projects Director Steve Pash, she also took on the planning for our highly successful service of the Frasatti Supper at St. James Catholic Church in downtown Vancouver.

The Rotary Club of Three Creeks has completed nine service projects in its first year as a club, and monthly projects are currently scheduled into February of 2018, with even more than that still to come.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, members of the Rotary Club of Three Creeks made a difference at the Clark County Food Bank, helping to repack food.

Many thanks go to members Lisa Abrahamsson and her husband Mats, Scot Brantley, Chuck Green, Susanne Holmberg, Jim Moody, Steve Pash, Jim Selby, Audra Smith, Dan Sockle and his wife Susan Stahl, and Tina Vlachos.

This was the ninth service project completed by the Three Creeks club since it was chartered in October 2016.

At the Rotary Club of Three Creeks' November 2 club meeting, President Susanne installed Daniel Spanski-Dreffin and Eric Lucescu into membership in the club.

Eric is a financial advisor with Edward Jones, and is a native of Clark County. He and his wife have one child with another on the way. Jim Selby is Eric’s sponsor.

Daniel is transferring to our club from the Twin Cities club in Chehalis. His interest in changing clubs is based on his residence in Vancouver. Daniel is a financial advisor with Voya Financial.

We extend our warmest welcome and happiness to have both Eric and Daniel in the Rotary Club of Three Creeks. We are excited about the good things to come from both of you!
