At our regular club meeting on March 2, Dan Sockle presented a Rotary Peace Pole to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
Shirley Gross, a club member who works at Legacy and is one of the people heading up the Healing Garden, said the Peace Pole will make a lovely focal point addition to the new garden. The rooftop garden on the third floor is currently under construction. When complete, it will provide a serene outdoor location for patients and families of patients to meditate and relax while at the hospital.
The idea to present a Peace Pole to Legacy was driven by Sockle, who is very much involved in Rotary's Peace efforts.
