Holmberg to present about Qatar, hydroplane racing

Our own Nelson Holmberg will share stories and photos about his two unlimited hydroplane racing world championship trips to Doha, Qatar at our next meeting, Thursday, June 2.

In 2013 and 2014, Holmberg made trips to the Middle East nation of Qatar, where he worked on the pit crew of the Graham Trucking-sponsored unlimited hydroplane, which won the World Championship both years.

He will share behind-the-scenes experiences both from the racing and from his "time off" during the trips to Qatar. It is an interesting presentation with facts about the area that one may not have already known, or even imagined, based on perceptions about the Middle East drawn from mass media and culture.
