![]() During District Governor Renee Campbell's visit to the Rotary Club of Three Creeks last night, she presented President Elect Nelson Holmberg with the Leadership, Service and Friendship Award. In her comments presenting the award, Campbell said, "As your club only recently chartered and each and every one of you played and plays a pertinent role in the success, I could have given out 23 awards. But I was challenged with the decision to choose one member only and it is my pleasure to honor this very special individual. "In this new club, this member took on the website, Facebook page, club app, and Bulletin. He donated endless hours and tools including a laptop, file cases, money, and more. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and Sustaining Member, signing up for Rotary Direct at District Training Assembly. He is enrolled in Essentials of Rotary Knowledge, and has participated in almost every hands-on event the club has organized. He has perfect attendance, is a wonderful Rotarian and individual, and is your President-Elect. This member has sponsored more members than anybody else except his partner in crime in chartering this club. On behalf of the Rotary Club of Vancouver Three Creeks I would like to recognize Nelson Holmberg with the Leadership, Service and Friendship award." Holmberg said he was "caught off-guard" by the award and appreciated the recognition very much. "It's humbling, and an honor, to be recognized by the District Governor like this," he said. "But as DG Renee said, it really has been a team effort. Everyone in the club has had an important role to play in getting us where we are today. Personally, I want to thank everyone for their own individual contributions." Comments are closed.
