Two more hands on projects have been scheduled for members of the Rotary Club of Three Creeks.
The first is working to help rehabilitate trails in the Whipple Creek Hollow. The second is serving a Frassati Supper. Whipple Creek Hollow Trail Rehabilitation Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 9 a.m.-noon Everyone is welcome. We will be spreading bark chips for community trails and assisting with some basic cleanup items. Please bring your own gloves, rakes, shovels, etc. This event is in the Mount Vista area. Directions: From NE 29th Avenue, head west on NE 159th Street, then turn right (north) on NE 22nd Avenue. The trail entrance is at the end of NE 22nd Ave. Please click here for a map to the site. Frassati Supper Thursday, Oct. 28, 2017 4:30-6:30 p.m. This dinner is about a 1.5-2 hour commitment and 7-8 volunteers are needed to serve dinner to the homeless/needy. This hands-on opportunity is at St. James Catholic Church (218 W. 12th Street, Vancouver, WA 98660) downtown on the corner of W. 12th Street and Columbia. We will be asked to arrive between 4:30-4:45 and start serving meals at 5 p.m. We serve as runners to 1) set up place settings as those being served come and go. 2) grab them a beverage (usually water, lemonade, coffee). 3) grab a food tray and have the food handlers dish us up and take the trays to our assigned tables to those who are eating. 4) pick up their area as they get done so that someone else can be seated and do it again. The church usually serves dinner from 5-6 p.m., so we are expected to be finished just after 6 p.m. Comments are closed.
