While The Rotary Foundation transforms gifts into life-changing projects around the world, we are equally committed to creating impact close to home through the Rotary Club of Three Creeks Foundation.
As the charitable arm of our club, the foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit recognized by the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Washington. It brings our club’s giving priorities to life—turning local passion into meaningful, measurable impact. Through just six fundraisers, our club has raised more than $150,000 to support local organizations, including North County Community Food Bank, Clark County Food Bank, FISH Vancouver, Clark Public Utilities’ Stream Team, Innovative Services Northwest, Council for the Homeless, and Operation Helping Our Heroes. The Rotary Club of Three Creeks Foundation was chartered on October 7, 2016.
The Foundation held its first board meeting following its charter, marking an important milestone in strengthening the club’s long-term community impact. The founding board includes Dan Sockle (Chair), Kelley Campbell (Treasurer), Jim Selby (Secretary), and directors Wendy Bukoski and Brian Heimbigner.
Its focus reflects the priorities identified by club members: children, veterans, homelessness, and hunger, with the goal of supporting those most in need and maximizing community impact. The Rotary Club of Three Creeks Foundation has supported the completion of nearly 90 service projects, creating lasting impact across the community.
As the club’s service work continued to grow, establishing a foundation provided a structured way to receive tax-deductible contributions while directly supporting meaningful projects in the community. The Foundation was formed to strengthen and expand the club’s community impact, with thousands of dollars already contributed to local nonprofits and continued growth expected in the years ahead.
Fundraising efforts are led through the Foundation. In previous years, the club’s primary fundraiser was Dancing with the Local Stars and Applause for a Cause is the major fundraising event for 2026, supporting the Rotary Club of Three Creeks Foundation’s charitable giving and grantmaking efforts.

Giving FocusOur focus is on addressing critical needs in our community, including support for at-risk youth, hunger relief, homelessness, and other urgent challenges. We partner with trusted nonprofit organizations that are making a lasting difference for individuals and families across the Three Creeks area.
A membership survey conducted in FY 2022–23 identified the Rotary Club of Three Creeks’ primary focus areas for charitable giving. For the next three years, the Charitable Giving Committee will base its recommendations on these key priorities: At-Risk Youth | Homelessness | Hunger These focus areas reflect both the needs we see in our local community and the passions of our members. By concentrating our resources and volunteer efforts, we aim to create meaningful, measurable, and lasting impact close to home. Alignment with Rotary International While our giving is locally focused, our work aligns with several of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus. As part of a global network committed to Service Above Self, we support initiatives that strengthen communities, expand opportunity, improve well-being, and promote sustainable solutions. By aligning our local priorities with Rotary’s broader mission, we ensure our impact contributes to both community-level change and Rotary’s global vision of lasting positive impact. These focus areas will be reassessed every two years, with any adjustments guided by feedback from the club’s membership to ensure continued relevance and impact. |

Gifts in Previous Years
Financial gifts awarded by the Rotary Club of Three Creeks in 2020-21 include:
The $45,000 that were disbursed in 2020-21 were raised during the club’s 2020 Fundraiser, Dancing with the Local Stars, which proved to be the final large-scale in-person event before the pandemic forced cancellation of such events for the rest of the year. Cyndi Holloway of Waste Connections was the Dancing with the Local Stars Grand Champion, raising nearly $20,000 to set a new fundraising record for the Rotary fundraiser.
- Three $7,000 grants (one each) to help alleviate food insecurity (to Clark County Food Bank, FISH of Vancouver and North County Community Food Bank)
- $6,500 to Clark College Foundation (earmarked to the early childhood center)
- $5,000 to seed funding for a future Rotary Club of Three Creeks international service project
- $2,500 to Clark Public Utilities Stream Team to aid in restoration of Salmon Creek
- $1,500 to Innovative Services NW to help fund improvements to the early childhood learning facility
- $1,500 to Council for the Homeless
- $1,500 to Operation Helping our Heroes serving veterans
- $1,100 in partnership with the Lewis River Rotary Club to purchase a billboard on St. John’s Road in Vancouver promoting Covid vaccinations
- $1,000 Southwest Washington LULAC for a farmers market program
- $1,000 to Shelter Box for emergency shelter kits
- $850 to United Way of Lane County for wildfire relief
- $627 to purchase new stuffed animals for children in the pediatrics unit at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center during Christmas.
- $500 to Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Washington for a literacy program
- $250 for community service project related expenses
